Yes, fully open at the crotch — there is no gusset and no closure. That is the design, not a defect, and it is the main thing to be sure about before ordering.

Q: How see-through is it?
Semi-sheer. The base is a fine mesh you can see through, with the coloured floral lace worked over the top. The lace covers where it sits; the mesh between it does not. Expect to be seen through the panels.
