Shaped, gathered cups do the work an underwire normally does, without the wire, and a clasp sits at the front between them so you fasten it looking down rather than reaching behind your back. The band is smooth and fully backless, so nothing shows under a strapless dress. Four tones, black through to bare.

Q: Will it actually stay up, and does it really lift?
The shaped cups and the front clasp hold considerably better than a plain elastic bandeau, and the gathering does give real shape rather than just flattening. But it is wireless, so the lift has a ceiling. If you are fuller busted and need a strapless bra to carry serious weight for a full evening, this will not do what an underwired one does.
Q: How is this different from your seamless bandeau?
The bandeau is flat, unshaped and made to disappear under a t-shirt. This one has moulded cups, a front clasp and gathering, so it shapes and lifts instead of smoothing. Pick the bandeau for invisibility under everyday clothes, and this one when the neckline is the point.
Q: Can I wear it under a backless dress?
Yes for anything strapless or off-the-shoulder. The band is smooth and unbroken across the back with nothing over the shoulders. For a genuinely low or open back the band will still sit across you — it is backless in the sense of no straps, not in the sense of no band.
